Lawn Sprinkler Zone Is Not Working
If a single zone is not working, the problem is usually an electrical issue or a defective controller or solenoid. When going through the process of locating and fixing the problem, be sure to flip the breaker switch for the sprinkler system controller to “OFF,” before removing and installing the controller, transformer, or wiring.
NOTE: This procedure assumes you have determined the issue is not the wiring.
CAUTION: Turn irrigation system water off.
- In your yard, find the zone hole where the solenoid is not working.
- Remove the zone cover.
- Remove the two solenoid leads.
- Unscrew the old solenoid.
5. Install the new solenoid in the hole.
6. Connect two wires and using the two new greased wire nuts.
7. Turn irrigation system water on.
8. Test your zone.
